This workshop will be run as a satelite meeting to the main [http://ecm28.ecanews.org/ ECM28] meeting in Warwick.

The aim of this workshop is provide an introduction to total scattering analysis (aka PDF) of crystalline.

The topics covered will include how to collect the diffraction data, how to produce the corrected total scattering and how to model the data and extract the useful information. It is hoped the final programme will be modified to meet the needs of the workshop participants.

The workshop will be held over two full days starting in the morning of the 30th August after the main ECM meeting.

The registration fee (including tea, coffee and lunch on both days ) is currently planned to be £100 (~€125).

Registration (including accommodation bookings not included in the registration fee) will be via the [http://ecm28.ecanews.org ECM28 website]. Participants should book accommodation for the 30th August.

More detail will appear here as they become avaialable. So please check back or email [mailto:matt.tucker@stfc.ac.uk Matt Tucker] to find out more.

There is also limited funding to provide student bursaries to help towards the cost of attending international conferences.

==Physical Crystallography Group (PCG) & Structural Condensed Matter Physics (SCMP)==
The PCG of the British Crystallographic Association ([http://crystallography.org.uk/ BCA]) and the SCMP of the Institute of Physics ([http://www.iop.org IoP]) are two names for the same group. The aim of the group is to promote and support physical crystallography in all its current forms. We organise meetings and workshops, award a thesis prize every year and a lecture prize biannually. There is also limited funding to provide student bursaries to help towards the cost of attending international conferences.

The aim of this website is to provide information to our members and hopefully attract new members from the community. The site is in the form of a ‘[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki wiki]’, which allows users of the site to add their own content and comment on others. In this way it is hoped it will be a dynamic home for the physical crystallography community.
