The partner universities of Birmingham and Warwick have been successful in securing a significant financial award from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to establish the Science City Interdisciplinary Alliance (SCIRA). This exciting new large-scale initiative aims to encourage an increase in internationally leading research in the West Midlands that will drive a vibrant knowledge-led economy and deliver new models of partnership between universities and the industrial base.

Up to 20 Interdisciplinary Research Fellowships in the four areas of Advanced Materials, Energy Futures, Translational Medicine and underpinning IT/computational work will be awarded. You will be a leading-edge researcher working in one or more of these areas motivated by challenging and exploiting the boundaries of your areas of research and committed to capitalising on the opportunities of interdisciplinary working.

Please visit www.science-city-jobs.com for further information on the Science City themes and for details on how to apply. Other vacancies may arise within Science City and these will be advertised via this website.
